Itinerary

  1. 1
    Panama Canal

The canal watershed maintains the reserve of this valuable natural resource. As well as being the principal source of water required for vessel transits, the canal watershed provides 95% of the drinking water for the inhabitants of the cities of Colon, Panama, San Miguelito and in the near future, Chorrera.

  2. 2
    Gamboa

Gamboa is a small town in the Republic of Panama. It was one of a handful of permanent Canal Zone townships, built to house employees of the Panama Canal and their dependents

  3. 3
    Gatun Lake

Gatun Lake is a massive artificial lake crossing through Panama between the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean. It forms a major part of the Panama Canal, transiting ships for 33 km across the Isthmus of Panama. The lake was created between 1907 and 1913 during the creation of the Gatun Dam. Gatun Lake, which is 26m above sea level, has an area of 425 km2 and stores 5.2 cubic kilometers of water. The water storage is used as a natural reservoir for the operation of the canal locks, supplied by the seasonal rainfall.

  4. 4
    Soberania National Park

The Soberanía National Park stretches from Limón to Lago Gatún. It’s about a 45-minute drive from Panama City, which makes it an easy place to day trip to from the capital. The park has good hiking trails and tons of wildlife. It protects some 525 species of birds, 105 species of mammals, 80 species of reptiles, and 55 species of amphibians. Bird species include toucans, trogons, motmots, flycatchers, woodpeckers, hawks, and tanagers. Rare species include the crimson-bellied woodpecker, crested eagle, yellow-eared toucanets, sirystes, rofous-ventaul, ground cuckoo, and even the endangered harpy eagle.

  5. 5
    Monkey Island

Panama’s Monkey Island on Lake Gatun is home to four monkey species—mantled howler, white-faced capuchin, Geoffroy’s tamarin, and lemurine owl monkeys)—as well as crocodiles, toucans, sloths, iguanas, and numerous exotic birds

Amazing Tour with Levy!

My brother and our friends went on a boat tour and our guide Levy was beyond exceptional. His knowlege of Panama, the history of Panama and the Panama Canal, and sense of humor, made our early tour worth it. We even got a chance to stop by a store to get some Panamanian food as well. As it was my first time traveling to Panama, it was a wonderful experience to be in exposed to the culture as my grandmother grew up in the country. I highly recommend this tour and when you book it, ask for Levy! You won’t be disappointed.

We found monkeys!

This was a great tour! We tied it into our Embera tour because we were staying in Playa Blanca. Levy was amazing!! He was very knowledgeable about all the different types of monkeys we saw. The boat driver was great too as he knew where on the islands to find the monkeys. He was also very patient waiting for them to come to the boat. Each island has their own monkey species which I thought was pretty interesting. This is a great tour if you have any kind of physical limitations because we stayed in the boat the entire time. The monkeys come right up to the boat and will eat out of your hand! I have never had an experience like this. The monkeys are really cute and you will not be disappointed!

Visit The Local Spots

Levy was our tour guide who went above and beyond in every way. We did several activities with him due to his passion and knowledge for Panama. He showed us all of the greatest local places to eat as well as some hidden gems along the way. Our trip to Panama would not have been the same if it wasn’t for crossing paths with Levy, and I am so grateful.

Edwing was AMAZING!

From start to finish, Edwing took great care of our group of 15. He was patient, knowledgeable, energetic, and an overall joy to have as our tour guide. Edwing took us to the best restaurant that gave us a welcomed break from the monotony of the resort's food. If we were to return to Panama, our group would definitely reconnect with Edwing. We couldn't thank him enough for giving us such an awesome tour of his beautiful country!
