We’ve been sailing this area for more than 15 years and we're going to take you to very beautiful Caribbean Beaches that are only accessible by sea. There is no road that can get you there and the nature is still virgin.
Pick-up is at 7am at your accommodation in Panama City, and we'll drive almost 2 hours to Portobelo, which is a historic port built by the Spanish in 1597. Once at the dock, we'll get to the Catamaran by speedboat. First we will sail for 50 minutes to Venas Azules, a mangrove lagoon characterised by turquoise water that we will explore by dinghi (30-60 minutes). After the lagoon excursion, we will be back to the catamaran and sail for 20 minutes to Playa Blanca, where you can snorkel and observe pristine colourful corals and fish, do paddleboarding, kayaking, swimming or just relaxing on the boat or beach (2-2.5 hours).
After that we will sail for 50 minutes to Portobelo.

What To Expect

Portobelo

Here you can see Spanish defensive fortifications built 500 years ago. It's part of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

10 minutes • Admission Ticket Free

Our first stop is Isla del Padre also called Blue veins. Blue veins is a lagoon of mangroves with crystal clear water and white sand beach. Here we’ll explore the lagoon with the dinghi and you can do snorkelling and kayaking.

60 minutes • Admission Ticket Free

Playa Blanca

After lunch, we’ll sail for 20 minutes and we’ll stop at Drake Beach.
Drake Beach is a tropical white beach, named after the pirate that died not far from there. Here you can do snorkeling and observe beautiful corals and fish. You can do kayaking, swim and enjoy the beach.

Green waters on Caribbean Islands

The drive to Portobello was relaxing with Philip telling some great Panama stories with its history and interesting incidents over last century. The ride on catamaran with Jenny and Have was exhilirating and stops on islands with activities just the right blend. Lunch was great as well. Overall a very enjoyable day.

An amazing day on the Caribbean with the best crew ever.

Kind and friendly crew. The boat is very clean and ideal for 10-12 guests. The stops were beautiful and peaceful, the home made lunch was delicious, definitely try the vegetable or seafood rice.

Drive from Panama was a bit too long, take drink and snack. Coming back seemed even longer, but worth the drive.

This was a great day trip, lots of fun and laughter. The driver picking us up was very knowledgeable and the captain provided a great experience.

Great catamaran, long long drive to get there

The Catamaran itself was so fun. It’s not a party catamaran. We had Jenny, the Captain and 3 couples on the catamaran, so 4 couples in total. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars and not 5 is because of the long drive. It was 2 hours getting there, driving on the catamaran to two different spots for another 2 hours and then 2 hours driving home. So on the 9hr catamaran experience 70% of it is driving. Jenny and the captain were great, lovely people. I just wish the ad stated how far it is to get there from the city. We stayed at the Waldorf Astoria.

Good tour, but could be improved itinerary wise.

I’ll start with the positives. Our driver was on time with picking us up and Jenny and Juan were great hosts who did their best to make everyone feel comfortable.

Now, the negatives. First, the road to get to the dock is a 3 hour drive on some extremely bumpy roads. It’s extremely uncomfortable and with spotty signal everywhere, it’s going to be quite an experience.

Secondly, this is not just unique to this tour, but this is for a lot of tours on Viator. The time elapsed is not accurate. This says 8-9 hours and while it does take into account transit time, it’s not really accurate. Our tour total, including transit time ended up being 12 hours, which is a little much for one day.

The itinerary could be improved a bit as well. 2 hours at one beach is a little much when there is only a few things to do. We went on a cloudy day so it was difficult to see things when snorkeling. I really wish this were planned better.

Other than that, it’s a good tour but could be improved with better planning and a better itinerary.
